Services for Alumni (Graduates)
You may have finished your studies at the University of Wollongong, but that doesn't mean you have to leave the Library behind! As a graduate, you can continue to access our expert staff and quality information resources.
Our low membership fees (A$50.00 yearly) allow you to save on personal journal subscriptions and book purchases. Access a range of services, including:
- Access to the Library collection, including half a million books, DVDs, videos and more
- Ability to borrow 10 items for 14 days (or 5 items at UOW Library locations other than Wollongong)
- Ability to renew items and place up to two holds on items
- Access to quality information resources through the Library's website
- Access to selected online databases and journals across a range of subject areas
A A$25.00 half-yearly membership fee is available to current year July graduands only.
Simply fill in the Alumni Library membership form and mail or fax it back to the Library with a copy of your driver's licence or passport. Alternatively, drop into the Main Library and join at the Loans Desk. Once your membership is processed, we will provide you with a membership card and password for remote access to selected electronic resources.
Membership is on an annual basis, running from 1 March to 28 February.
Alumni Library membership will not provide you with access to all Library resources. Borrowing of the following materials is restricted to current staff and students only:
| CRC Short Loans, Law Primary, Law Reference, Law Serials, Short Loans, One Week Loans, Media, Journals and electronic subject readings. |
Access to Document Delivery, Intercampus Document Delivery (ICDD) and group study rooms is also restricted to current staff and students.
Publisher restrictions prohibit off-campus access to many online databases and reference works, although more extensive access may be provided to some electronic resources if you visit the Library in person. To determine 'walk-in' access to individual resources, please check the Conditions of use statement, available for each database via our Databases web pages.
Please note that walk-in access is determined by publisher licensing agreements. Alumni access to some resources is strictly prohibited.
We are available to answer any questions you may have. Drop into the Library and talk to our friendly staff or phone us on 02 4221 3545.
