Borrowing from the Library
HSC students living in the local area can join the University of Wollongong Library. This will allow you to borrow 5 books for 14 days. For more information, including any fees, go to borrowing information, under category 19.

To locate books and other resources use a range of search techniques
- Keywords
- Boolean operators (AND, OR, NOT)
- Synonyms
- Truncation
- Phrase searching
- Limits
- Subject headings
When you have found some useful titles, use the subject headings to locate other similar books.
Australia* AND histor* AND (aborigin* OR indigenous) AND cultur*
This search will find the following combination of words
Australia, Australian, Australia's
AND
history, histories, historical, historiography
AND
aborigine, aborigines, aboriginal OR indigenous
AND

Search engines such as Google or Sensis are useful to find unpublished literature.
Select the Advanced Search (Phrase searching and limiting the domain will increase the relevancy of your results, for example, to limit to Australian locations in Google, type .au in the DOMAIN field.)
