| Access | Microsoft Internet Explorer, Firefox, Safari and others |
|---|---|
| Subjects | Over 1,100 e-books covering multi-disciplinary areas such as education, health, business, literature, management, politics, history and computing. |
| Authentication | IP authentication. You are required to authenticate against both the EZproxy and the grey autoproxy if you are on campus |
| Number of users | Multiple users may access the system and individual titles. |
| Time Limits | After five minutes reading you will need to make a loan. Each loan is for one day, so users may log back into that book again within that period and retain settings |
| Navigating | Click on the Read Online icon to the left of the page. Then use the content tab to browse or the search tab to locate relevant sections. The options Library, EBL, Search, This Book,at the top left all take you out of the reader. Other options work within the reader. EBLtakes you to a site where you can search and browse for available EBL books. Library takes you back to the catalogue |
| Printing | It is possible to print page ranges or select chapters to print but there is a maximum that will be displayed when you click on the print tab. |
| Saving | EBL does not allow saving sections of the ebooks to a file. The download tab is not operational because that was to download the book for a limited time to the desktop but we have had them disable this option because it required a plugin |
| Emailing | EBL does not have a function to allow an article to be emailed. It is possible to email a link to the book. |
| Copying | Highlighted text may be copied and pasted using normal browser functions |
| User accounts | Users may establish a free user account. You may bookmark and make notes, which can later be saved |
| Referencing and citing | Printouts include relevant referencing data on the left side margin. |
