I am not a student or a University of Wollongong staff member. Can I get access to the Library's databases and electronic journals? No. Database licence agreements restrict access to currently enrolled University of Wollongong students and staff. Contact your home institution and/or local public library to explore services that they may provide.
I can't access the databases, why not? There may be several different problems: Check the information under the icon for any specific requirements To authenticate against EZproxy you need a current University of Wollongong email account. Contact ITS for help with this. Individual sites may be down, does the browser message suggest this? If so try again later Many sites rely on cookies and javascript to operate effectively. Check the page on the authentication process for assistance. Corporate sites often have firewalls that may impede access through the EZproxy. Check with their IT staff. What browser should I use? Not all databases conform to standards for html, so it is not possible to recommend one browser for all databases. The Library public access workstations have both Internet Explorer and Mozilla. It may be necessary to change from one to the other if problems with access, search or display are encountered In general, use recent versions of browsers. It is normal that databases use cookies and many use Java, so make sure the settings within the browser have these enabled.
