Introduction

The key to selecting appropriate information is having the ability to critically evaluate. Evaluating information is about examining the information you find to decide if it is:

  • relevant for your information need
  • is a reliable source of information

It is a good idea to evaluate all information types you find. However, as anyone can create a website, extra caution should be taken when selecting information from the Internet.

This module will help you recognise and apply criteria for selecting

  • the most relevant information for your information need
  • reliable sources of information
  • relevant and reliable websites
