Search strategy
Boolean Operator: OR
The word OR is used to
increase the number of search hits by retrieving
all records that contain at least one of the search
terms. The OR connector
is used when two or more words have a similar meaning:
For example:
- A database search on the keyword children
finds 2,395 records
- A database search on the keyword adolescent
finds 1,500 records

The search on children OR
adolescent finds a total of 3,495 records
with either of the words children
or adolescent in the record.
