Orientate Yourself

Come along to a session to go into the draw to win:

‘Orientate Yourself!’ information sessions give you inside knowledge from students who have been there and done that.
This is an essential foundation for new students (and old students who need a refresher!).
In one hour you will:
- Learn how to survive university assignments and exams.
- Discover practical things like connecting to the wireless internet and how to print.
- Get advice from senior students who have years of experience – hear their tips and tricks.
Each session is specifically tailored for student groups: domestic undergraduates, international, postgraduates, indigenous students and students living in UOW accommodation. Attend the session that best fits you.

Complete StartSmart – Essential Academic Information Skills program and compulsory* quiz, which will assist you with completing assignments and avoiding plagiarism.
The online course covers:
- What your lecturers expect
- Finding books
- Finding journal articles
- Academic integrity
Complete the program and quiz before your first assignment.
* StartSmart – Essential Academic Information Skills is compulsory for all undergraduate students who haven’t previously completed ILIP (Independent Learners Introductory Program). New postgraduate students who have not previously studied at the University of Wollongong are strongly encouraged to complete the online program: StartSmart – Essential Academic Information Skills.
