Computers

You should place both the below notices next to computers to warn students and/or staff of their legal responsibilitiesLegal Responsibilities
The exact wording of these notices is set out by Regulations in the Copyright Act 1968.

Electronic course packs (CD-ROMs)

You must attach the below notice to all electronically transmitted works containing third party copyright material Electronically transmitted works
This includes pdfs that are presented to students through the eReadings service. In this case, the notice is added by eReadings staff.
copied for teaching purposes, unless you have copied the material with the copyright owner's permission. The notice should be electronically attached to the course pack in such a manner that users will see the notice each time they access the material.

Electronic transmissions of TV and Radio Broadcasts

You must attach the below notice to any broadcast material you electronically transmit for teaching purposes. The notice should appear immediately before the broadcast material is communicated to students.

Hardcopy course packs

You must complete the Copyright Declaration Form and supply it to the printer, which should then be printed on the inside cover of the course pack.

The Printery will only print a course pack if they receive a completed Copyright Declaration Form; and the Bookstore will only stock course packs containing a completed Copyright Declaration Form.

Music notice (copy of music performed at a university event)

Under our music licence, UOW may provide to staff and students copies of audio or video recordings of music from the AMCOS/ARIA repertoire performed at a university event for educational purposes, so long as it is for their (and/or their immediate family's) private domestic listening and viewing purposes.

If you wish to make an audio recording for the above purpose you must check our guidelines to ensure that you are entitled to do so. You must also attach a notice to the recording, or its packaging, labelling or file heading.

Music notice (music copied for analysis)

Under our music licence, staff may make an audio recording of music from the AMCOS/ARIA repertoire for educational purposes to provide to UOW students or staff for their analysis or as part of a lecture, tutorial, or any other classroom related and based activities.

If you wish to make an audio recording for the above purpose you must check our guidelines to ensure that you are entitled to do so. You must also attach a notice to the recording, or its packaging, labelling or file heading.

Music notice (uploading to web)

Under our music licence, staff may make audio and video recordings of music from the AMCOS/ARIA repertoire available online to students and staff for their listening if it is for their educational purposes.

If you wish to make a recording available for the above purpose you must check our guidelines to ensure that you are entitled to do so. You must also attach a notice to the recording (or file heading).

TV and Radio Broadcasts

You must attach the below notice to any broadcast material you copy for teaching purposes. The notice may be attached to the spine of the VHS tape.
