Significant improvements have been made since the last Library Survey in 2008

Access to Electronic Resources:

• Expansion of the online journal collection to 79,000 titles
• Improved access to a wider range of e-books, now over 10,000 titles

Facilities and equipment:

• Opening hours extended during the exam period
• Expanded support for wireless access
• Access to power available at almost all individual study carrels (with security lock-plates) and most group study tables
• Addition of 32 new powered desks
• Installation of digital projectors in two group study rooms
• Addition of over 40 computers
• Print-only computer stations to reduce computer waiting times

Online Library

• Revised search page to promote different methods of searching for resources
• Article Finder, a federated search platform
• SearchGuru, a simplified catalogue search platform
• User-friendly Resources for Assignments

Service delivery:

• Improved access to staff and help through new communication initiatives
• New approaches to staff training to ensure standards and expectations are met

 

Terms & Conditions:

To be entered into the prize draw, survey respondents must complete the competition entry form online after completing the survey. Only 1 entry is permitted per person. All personal details collected are independent to survey responses. No personal details will stored following the competition draw. First Prize: Dell Vostro 1015 Laptop; Second prize: Symbio Wildlife Park entry for 2 people; Third & Forth prize: 10 Greater Union Movie Pass packs. Competition opens 13/09/2010 and closes 5pm 24/09/2010, unless extended by UOW Library. Winners will be drawn by ITS, UOW. Winners will be notified by email. Behind the Scenes Encounter at Symbio Wildlife Park: “Behind the scenes encounter” is available prior to Wildlife park morning opening time, booking is essential and subject to availability. Symbio Wildlife Park has the right to cancel ‘encounter’ due to unforeseen circumstances. Valid until 30/6/2011. Greater Union Movie Pass packs: Two prize packs of 10 Adult Movie tickets are available. Movie tickets can not be used Saturday evenings, valid for 6 months.
